CrossFit Games Open 2016 Starts This Saturday Morning 27th February.

CROSSFIT GAMES OPEN 2016 - Important Information:

Attn: Anarchists! Open WOD 16.1 will be announced Friday 26th February on the CrossFit Games website and will also be posted on our Blog & Facebook page immediately following. 16.2, 16.3, 16.4 & 16.5 will be announced at the same time each week.

We will be running judged workouts each Saturday morning for the next 5 weeks commencing at 6am, and from Wednesday there will be a booking sheet in reception for you to secure your 30min time slot prior to Saturday.

You MUST be warmed up in the heat prior & ready to start your WOD at your time you requested to avoid delays.

If for any reason you cannot complete your WOD on any given Saturday, it is your responsibility to arrange with a judge to have your workout verified, at a time that suits you both.

WOD scores need to be submitted & finalised by 7pm Monday so you must have completed your workout prior to this time.

Currently our Registered Judges at CrossFit Anarchy are: Carmen, Ian and Chris at this stage, with a couple others hopefully doing theirs soon too.

**Please note: There will be NO normal Saturday morning CrossFit class at 7am.
However...Those who are not participating in the Open, are more than welcome to still come and do the WOD but there will be no formal class run.**

The workouts for the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games Open will be announced live from affiliates across the United States.
Moments after each workout is released, two or more CrossFit Games competitors will go head-to-head to set the scores to beat.

16.1 will be announced from NorCal CrossFit in Santa Clara, California, on Friday 26th February at 12pm. The live show will start with the Director of the Games, Dave Castro revealing Open Workout 16.1 to the crowds, livestream audience and four athletes poised to be the first to try the workout.

Bring your lunch, find out the WOD, then watch two Games Athletes battle it out...

The 6th- and 8th-ranked women from the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games, Chyna Cho and Emily Abbott, will take on the workout alongside two employees from Western Digital Corporation (WDC). The tech company has introduced CrossFit to 13 of their locations worldwide. More than 2,000 WDC employees participate in CrossFit classes daily, making them one of the largest affiliate groups in the world.

The Reebok CrossFit Games Open 2016 kicks off in 6 weeks time on Friday 26th February (Australian time) with a worldwide online competition - a great way to see exactly where you sit on the big stage of CrossFit.

This will be the 4th year CrossFit Anarchy has participated in the Open and we are looking to have a big representation of athletes from our box participating once again.

I would encourage everybody to register....to have the opportunity to experience the workouts in true CrossFit form.
This year we see the return of the Scaled category as well as the Teenage division, so the workouts will be fit for everybody's ability.

Those who have competed in past years will remember the electric atmosphere & CrossFit camaraderie within the box, as they battled through the challenging workouts...Get on board everyone!!

2016 CROSSFIT GAMES - JUDGES COURSE

The 2016 CrossFit Judges Course has been released for those who would like to be involved in judging any of the Open workouts held at CrossFit Anarchy.

The course offers an introduction to the skills a judge will use during any CrossFit competition. It includes general information on competition rules, regulations and common movements. Once the movement modules have been reviewed, the aspiring judge will test their skills on the final exam.

Anyone who intends to manage an affiliate, judge an aspiring regional athlete, or review Open video submissions must take and pass the 2016 CrossFit Judges Course. It’s also required for Masters Qualifier, regional and Games judges.

If you are planning on being involved in judging the Open workouts at our box, then you will be required to undertake the course. It costs US$10.

The skills covered in the course should be practiced and maintained regularly. Upon successful completion of this course a Certified CrossFit Trainer may claim 2 CEUs toward their continuing education.
